KNOW YOUR ISLAND WALK; JAN. 26, 2013, 1-2:30pm Know Your Island Walk; Sat. Jan. 26, 2013, 1-4pm. Meet Sally Thomsen, Director of the San Juan Island Park and Recreation District (better known as "Island Rec')to walk the Lafarge property, also known as The Gravel Pit. Learn its history, its current status and its potential. Meet and park in the parking lot on Pear Point Road. Length is 3+ miles; terrain is flat with a couple of (optional)steep hills. Rating is easy. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
