Trails: Survey of Interests

Dear Trail Committee Supporters on SJ Island,

The Trails Committee of Island Rec is strengthening its volunteer program.

The first step is to better identify who wishes to be an active Trails Committee volunteer and what she/he wishes to do. The following eight areas of interest are where volunteer help is needed.  Please consider giving a few hours of your time to the effort this coming year. Thanks for considering this request.

Trails Committee Areas of Interest

A)  Trail Maintenance – fairly light outdoor work

B)  Trail construction – heavier work using necessary tools

C)  Public Information & Outreach

D)  Planning and committee governance

E)  Leading walks and public events

F)  Website design and monitoring

G)  Writing grants and fundraising

H)  Trail Stewardship & trail monitoring

I)   Bicycling – both off-road and on pavement

If you wish to contribute some of your time and energy to helping the Trails Committee achieve its goals please begin by answering the questions below:

2) a contact phone number,

3) an email address you wish to use, and

4) as many areas of interest as you wish to list by noting the letter designation of the area of interest.

Volunteer Opportunities meetings:

As an active volunteer who answered this survey please mark your calendar to attend one of the meetings.

– Monday, October 20th at 3:00 the Islander’s Bank Community Room

or:

-Monday, October 27th at 6:30 at the San Juan Island Library Conference Room.

Each meeting will last one hour.
